A Killer Paradox Ending Explained

In the seventh episode, Lee and Roh-bin plan to escape to South Korea by boat, pursued by the cops and Song Chon. Roh-bin, realizing that things won’t improve, tricks Lee into going alone while he stays behind to help Jang catch Song.

Lee becomes suspicious and activates the location tracker on Roh-bin’s phone while they are in the car. Before boarding the boat, Lee finds a letter from Roh-bin apologizing for dragging him into this mess. Determined not to leave his friend, Lee follows the tracker to the rendezvous point with Song Chon.

After parting ways with Lee, Roh-bin contacts Detective Jang, who is furious because Song Chon killed his father in the hospital. Roh-bin explains their situation and asks Jang to let Lee go after they catch Song.

Roh-bin shows Jang videos proving that the people they killed were not innocent. Jang argues about the morality of their actions, but Roh-bin counters by pointing out Jang’s own unofficial pursuit of Song.

Roh-bin and Detective Jang head to the meeting place. First, Roh-bin appears, then Jang, and finally Lee arrives. A gunfight ensues. Lee dodges bullets with almost supernatural speed. Amidst the chaos, Roh-bin tries to wrestle Song’s gun away. Jang, obsessed with revenge, shoots at Song, hitting him but also causing Song’s gun to go off, killing Roh-bin.

With Roh-bin dead and Song wounded, Song taunts Lee about his supposed superpowers and ability to judge evil. Song reveals he is not the main villain in Jang’s life. In fact, Jang’s father, who bullied Jang in childhood, was cruel to Song as well. Back when they worked together as cops, Jang’s father used to smuggle drugs, which led to a woman’s suicide and ruined Song’s career.

In a flashback, we see Jang’s father beating Song, who retaliates which later paralyzes Jang’s father. During a moment of distraction, Song attempts to strike back, but Jang fires two shots, killing Song. Lee, exhausted and seeking an end, puts Jang’s hand on his forehead and presses the trigger, but survives once again. Jang honors his promise to Roh-bin and spares Lee.

Lee starts a new life in another country but is eventually caught and deported for living there illegally.

“A Killer Paradox” ends on a somber note, with Lee facing the consequences of his actions and the haunting memories of his quest for justice.

A Killer Paradox Season – 02 Update?

While there’s always potential for more, “A Killer Paradox” ends on an open note, suggesting the possibility of a second season. The release of Season 2 will depend on two factors: audience response and the potential for continuing the story.

In my view, the plot for Season 2 might explore the presence of more individuals like Lee in Korea. I sense that a female character in a negative role could emerge. There’s a high likelihood that Lee and Jang will form an alliance, continuing the story with a classic good vs. evil theme.
